Flu(Influenza) The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild or severe illness. The flu spreads in repiratory droplets caused by coughing and sneezing. The single best way to prevent the flu is to get a vaccine each fall. In schools we need to concentrate on good health habits and respiratory etiquette to prevent flu.

Health ScreeningsRoutine screenings for vision and hearing begin in September. The following students will be screened for vision and hearing: All 7th grade students, New students, requests from parents, teachers.
Scoliosis is curvature of the spine. According to available information 7 to 10 out of every 100 children may develope scoliosis and 1 to 3 of that group will require treatment. If the condition is detected early and appropriately treated, progressive spine deformity can be prevented. This year 7th grade students will be screened beginning in January. Discussion Topics |
